DOING Something

Deena Cook

My Father was diagnosed with lung cancer “by accident” in 1975. He had surgery and was lung cancer free until he passed away. Fast forward 36 years, my lung cancer was also diagnosed “by accident”. We were both LUCKY. But, when they noticed a 2nd tumor at my 6 month check-up, I decided LUCK was not a treatment. Then I researched this insidious disease and found the treatment for lung cancer was "don't smoke or quit". I was outraged! My Father was very pragmatic, I knew he would simply tell me: “You don’t like it, do something about it.” I am my Father’s daughter.
We are extremely excited to be part of the Rrrrrrrrride Hard Breath Easy Classic. All monies raised will directly support the work of GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer to end the devastating stigma and support critical early detection. The Cookies are well qualified for the SAGger job; support and gear is our name, getting there is the game!
Our goal is to raise $1446: $1 for every mile The Cookies will “travel” to save more lives. Every participant of the RHBE Classic 2019 is DOING something for lung cancer patients. We would greatly appreciate your help!
Our Love and Gratitude!
